If you’re new to crypto investing, or even if you’ve been doing it for a while, you may be looking for a one-stop resource that tells you everything you need to know. While there is a great deal of information out there on the internet, sometimes it’s easier to simply get hold of a book that covers all the basics and allows you to refer to it again and again as you progress in your crypto trading journey. We’ve compiled some of the best books about cryptocurrency that you might want to take a look at.

THE AGE OF CRYPTOCURRENCY: HOW BITCOIN AND THE BLOCKCHAIN ARE CHALLENGING THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC ORDER

by Michael J. Casey and Paul Vigna

Written by two Wall Street journalists, this is possibly the best book about crypto for those who truly want to understand the concept and the impact it is having on the financial industry and the world. The book really does set out to demystify crypto and talks about its history, how it has unfolded, and how it functions, including its reliance on the blockchain, and exactly what this means in real terms.

The book certainly acts as a primer for those who want to invest in cryptocurrency, because ultimately none of us should be investing in things that we simply don’t understand. However, it’s also a great book for anyone who just has an intellectual interest in digital currency, the ideas and concepts behind it, and how it all actually works in practice. The book is well written and fairly accessible, and the authors maintain a neutral position, objectively pointing out the pros and cons of digital currency and the technology it’s built on.

THE ONLY CRYPTOCURRENCY INVESTING BOOK YOU’LL EVER NEED: AN ABSOLUTE BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO THE BIGGEST “MILLIONAIRE MAKER” ASSET OF 2022 AND BEYOND

by Freeman Publications

Perhaps the best book on crypto investing for the complete beginner, this book covers a wide range of information, including how to buy and store Bitcoin, which other altcoins to buy in 2022, red flags to watch out for in crypto investing, and how to spot a cryptocurrency scam. It has a lot of information and offers new and potential crypto investors plenty to think about, discussing a range of altcoins and also covering NFTs, to give you a strong overview of what is happening in the digital currency space.

The book is produced by Freeman Publications, which was started by an investor frustrated by the overcomplicated and often biased advice dished out by financial ‘gurus’, and is now essentially a team of authors trying to demystify and simplify the investing process for those who are just starting out. The authors are clearly enthusiastic about the future of cryptocurrency, and the book is a very positive one, but also points out how things can go wrong and what to look out for as a new crypto investor. Written in plain English, and covering a wide range of crypto investing issues, this is a good book for a strong overview of the crypto space, and it offers some solid advice for beginners.

CRYPTO CURIOUS: THE BASICS FOR BEGINNERS

by Majlinda Kapllanaj

Released in May 2022, this book is bang up to date and, as the title suggests, is a great, straightforward overview for those who are ‘crypto curious’. It goes into a fair amount of detail on both Bitcoin and Ethereum and explains in simple terms exactly how the blockchain works, and what the threats and limitations are for the world’s leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.

The book also addresses questions such as ‘Who owns the world’s supply of Bitcoins?’ and ‘What happens after all the Bitcoins are mined?’ in a simple no-nonsense way that most people will find easy to grasp. Topics such as decentralized exchanges, crypto wallets, avoiding crypto scams, and the tax implications of crypto investments are also covered. While the book doesn’t contain a lot of detailed crypto investing advice, it does give you the kind of overview you need to make an informed decision about whether you want to start investing.

CRYPTOCURRENCY FOR BEGINNERS: ULTIMATE GUIDE FOR TRADING & INVESTING BITCOIN AND OTHER TOP ALTCOINS

by William Rick DeVito

This is a good book for those who want to go beyond Bitcoin (though it is, of course, covered) and delve a little deeper into some of the top emerging altcoins. The author gives a clear assessment, with pros and cons, of other popular digital currencies such as Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Ripple, Stellar, Neo, Tether, Binance and Cardano.

There’s also an extensive chapter on safety and security when it comes to investing in crypto – this covers fake apps and websites, wallet hacks, ICO scams and DeFi ‘rug pulls’. With so many scammers out there, and a number of security risks to think about that don’t generally apply to fiat money, this alone is a valuable section for anyone thinking of investing in cryptocurrency. There’s also a useful review section looking at six of the top cryptocurrency exchanges so that you can get an idea of which one might be right for you.

SPILL THE NFT – A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS: HOW NFTS WORK, HOW THEY ARE CREATED AND HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM THEM

by Max V Palmeira

While NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are not the same thing as cryptocurrency, they do have features in common, and many of the people investing in NFTs started off investing in Bitcoin and other digital coins. This book is a great overview for those who are curious about the world of NFTs and how the technology surrounding them works.

The author not only covers how to invest in NFTs and which NFT marketplaces to use, but also how to potentially create your own NFTs and build an NFT brand and community around your work. This is definitely an interesting one to read, alongside a couple of the books above, if you want a broader view of how innovations can emerge in the digital space.

Ultimately, educating yourself should always be the first step on any new investing journey, so consider checking out one or more of the books above to arm yourself with the knowledge you need.
